Irineo Esperancilla was born in the Philippines on October 15, 1906. In 1925, he joined the U.S. Navy. From 1929-1955, he worked in the White House and on presidential yachts as a Navy Steward serving four U.S. Presidents – Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman and Eisenhower. He was present at some of the important historical events of the 20th century.

Featured speaker Melinda Dart, Esperancilla’s granddaughter, will share untold life experiences of Mr. Irineo Esperancilla. Ms. Dart’s father, Johnny Paje USN was also assigned in the White House. She spent her childhood just outside Washington DC, in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
