WASHINGTON D.C. – The US-Philippines Society and Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) welcomed former USAID Philippine Mission Director Gloria Steele on October 28 at a round table discussion. Ms. Steele reported on innovative ways to attain resilient and inclusive growth.

Under the Cities Development Initiative, the agency recognized that generating markets in secondary cities promotes growth in surrounding rural areas. It partners with local government, the private sector and civil society to attract high-value industries and promote well-planned urban growth.
