Mr. Greenberg recognized for his Leadership in strengthening US-Philippines Relations

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On June 24, Mr. Maurice R. Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr & Co., Inc. and Honorary Chair of the US-Philippines Society receives the 2015 Carlos P. Romulo Award in recognition of his “indispensable support for the Society and for exceptional service in strengthening ties between America and the Philippines.”

US-Philippines Society Co-Chair John D. Negroponte was joined by Ambassador Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. in presenting the award to Mr. Greenberg during a June 24 conference at CSIS on the “Dynamic Philippine Economy.” Greenberg is a CSIS Trustee and member of the Sumitro Chair for Southeast Asia Studies’ Advisory Board.

The conference kicks off a 3-US city trade and investment mission led by senior Philippine cabinet secretaries. Negroponte noted that the forum offered an ideal venue to recognize a man who has done so much to create business opportunities between the US and the Philippines over many years.

Secretary of Finance Cesar Purisima, Secretary of Trade Gregory Domingo and Secretary of Public Works and Highways Rogelio L. Singson are travelling to New York and San Francisco after Washington DC with Philippine private sector leaders to tell the story of growth and development and discuss business opportunities in the Philippines.
