Humanitarian Crisis in Marawi: How You Can Help
Violence in Marawi has forced the displacement of hundreds of thousands of residents.

The US-Philippines Society is asking you to join in an urgent humanitarian effort to provide assistance to thousands of families displaced in the aftermath of the five-month battle in Marawi. Your donation will support the longer term effort to restore livelihoods, provide education tool kits and promote peace-building programs.
With your assistance in 2017, we mobilized a medical team led by physicians of the Makati Medical Center in partnership with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) and the US-Philippines Society. This was followed by a Jobs Fair and livelihood project “Weaving Hope for Marawi” with donations received from Society members, the Philippine Nurses Association of America and the Philippine Humanitarian Coalition.
In 2018, we launched the “Children of Marawi” project providing e-school-in-a-bag education kits to Marawi schools and alternative learning centers with support from Project Handclasp Foundation. In February 2019, US-Philippines Society turned over medical equipment and supplies to a soon-to-open rural health center (RHC) that is designed to serve the physical and psycho-social health needs of some 3,000 internally displaced families. With the help of PDRF, the USPS will also be supporting the training of the medical professionals and health leaders who will be assigned to the RHC. PDRF is an effective and proven non-governmental charitable organization in the Philippines.
