May 18: “Remembering Bataan and Corregidor” Book Presentation

In commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the fall of Bataan in April and Corregidor in May, the US-Philippines Society in coordination with the Embassy of the Philippines would like to invite you to a Book Presentation and Panel Discussion on the challenges faced by Filipinos and Americans during World War II.

The Special Edition book titled “Cadet, Soldier, Guerrilla Fighter: Remembering Bataan and Corregidor” follows a young Filipino soldier who joined the the USAFFE (United States Armed Forces of the Far East), survived the Death March, and led the Hunters-ROTC Guerrillas in a raid that freed nearly 2,000 American and Allied civilians. The program will include a discussion of efforts to recognize Filipino WWII veterans.
